Samhain and my well deserved half term break

Oh the joys!

A whole ten days off school and time to relax and celebrate Samhain, do a lot of painting and art, blogs, pet my beautiful cat and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

It has been a very chaotic and stressful time at school, hence the lack of blogging. I am still loving my job but being hit and scratched continuously does take its toll. The feeling that you spend all your day in the toilet cleaning up various bodily substances again does not help morale…and the knowing that you’re working well below your abilities and skills can get frustrating. Sometimes I do not want to get up in the morning.

But, to the good things! I have been working (albeit painfully slowly) on my Oracle cards. Here are some images showing the progress of the Fire Element:

This is Goddess Pele, a powerful Deity. She will be on the back of all the Fire Elemental Cards.

In the Hawaiian religionPele (/ˈpl/pay-lay[ˈpɛlɛ]) is the goddess of firelightningwind, and volcanoes.

Here are all the MAJOR ARCANA cards together. Each Element will have 3 more Minor Arcana cards to give a clearer and more detailed reading.

These show the size that the oracle cards will be. (Front view)

It was also my 40th birthday earlier in the month:

Bright Blessings, with Love, Peace and Light!

Join me on All hallow’s Eve as I blog about my favourite night of the year.

Happy Samhain!

A bit of a slow week but absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I hate it when I’m not very productive. It’s not that I haven’t got plenty to do or that I’m not inspired. It has been a combination of having a strange head cold coupled with hay fever, spending time with Fiance, and just generally waiting around for a phone call about a job. It has been like sitting on a bridge half way across. No man’s land.

I suppose it’s not always a bad thing to do nothing. It makes the activities you love more exciting and you see them with new eyes when you finally do get down to them again. Sometimes I have too much to do that I don’t do anything. Overload!

After all: ”The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.” ~Bertrand Russell

This is what I have started. It’s the Fire Element Card for the Major Arcana.

This is the last one of the five, having done Air, Water, Earth and Spirit. I’m not sure if I posted the finished Spirit card, so here it is:

I think the cards are looking really good together. I made this image up so that I could make sure they looked like they belonged together. Packs of cards should hold some unity. With these it’s the intricate borders and the angel wings.

Finally, here’s my reading material. Interesting wouldn’t you say? I’m keen to bring some ancient symbols into my jewellery pieces.

So, until next time, stay light, stay bright and don’t feel bad about doing nothing!

Blessings & Light

The Water Element

Alchemistisches Symbol für "Wasser" ...

The Water Element encourages us to be; sensitive, adaptable, reflective, serene, calm, forgiving, decisive, intuitive and imaginative.

It encourages direction, purpose, rejuvenation, purification, inner feelings & emotions and cleansing.

It warns of sadness, over sensitivity, suffocation, vanity, illusions, idleness, pessimism, and fickleness.

New Painting for a set of Elemental Angel Oracle Cards~Part 1

She’s the Wiccan manifestation of the element of Water.
Her name is Ondine
I am painting her as part of my new set of Oracle cards.
‘Elemental Angels’
A set of cards with the Elements as the Major Arcana and then the many attributes of each Element as the Minor Arcana.
There will be initially 30 cards.
But there will be more available to add to the set in the future. The more you have, the more in depth your readings will be.
The cards are for positive affirmations only. The ‘negative’ aspects of each card will be there as light warnings or gentle suggestions of how you can improve or develop your character or outlook.
I will include affirmations from my own intuitive responses to each card.
This is the basic background of the WATER Element card so far.
